We GIVE Before We RECEIVE

On the 21st of January 2018, Ixora Hotel Penang has held its 5th GIVE Before You RECEIVE Blood Donation drive and we are proud to say that it has been a SUCCESS!

The blood donation started off at 10.00am but kind Samaritan donors had already started queuing up at our doorstep from 9.30am onward! That’s what we love about our crowds, their enthusiasm! Just only at 10.30am, we have already reached our target of 100 bags of precious, life-giving blood.

In total, we had 246 registered donors, unfortunately 40 were rejected. However, we have managed to collect 206 bags blood! This has been the highest public turnout in the history of Ixora Hotel Penang’s CSR campaigns, and we could never have done it without the kind hearts of our people. Majority of our donors have traveled all the way from Bukit Mertajam and some even from Kepala Batas. The amount of blood donated can save up to 618 patients as 1 bag of blood can save up to 3 lives. In addition to the blood donated, we have 5 successful commitments from our campaigners to become organ donors. As of such, 45 people in need will benefit from this in the future as 1 person can save up to 9 lives.

As a result of this wondrous day of giving and charity, Ixora Hotel Penang has the highest collection in the district and we could not have done that without the goodness in the hearts of our public. Not forgetting the help that we have received from NGOs involved (Malaysian Red Crescent Society, North Seberang Perai District, the Persatuan Penderma Darah Seberang Perai Utara, Penang and the Northern Indian Corridor Association), hospitals (Hospital Pulau Pinang and Hospital Seberang Jaya) and our sponsors Regiustea Icon City, Clash on Cafe, Carol Beauty and Straits Cafe.
